Trump Business Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

The former president’s family business accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his administration was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the same, an analysis published recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization aimed to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for temporary work visas for workers including servers, clerks, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers was the record submitted by the company, and increased from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The revelation comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the actions of the millions of people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and reporters.

In total, the Trump Organization sought to employ 566 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was criticized by certain in the Republican party this week for comments justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to invest billions to build a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers undercut the wages of American employees.

The administration refused a request for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an request for information.
